Twin Set Cold Water Booster Pump Replacement
FM Connect replaced an existing twin cold water booster pump set to restore reliable water pressure throughout the building. Works included isolating and removing the existing equipment, installing the replacement booster set, adapting pipework and reconnecting electrical supplies and controls. The system was then tested and commissioned, with pressure settings, pump sequencing and automatic changeover checked to confirm dependable operation.

The challenge
Replacing the building’s ageing twin cold water booster pump set while minimising disruption to occupants. The works required careful coordination of the water shutdown, integration with existing pipework and electrical supplies, and commissioning to ensure reliable pressure and duty/standby operation.
What we did
We isolated and removed the existing booster set, installed a new twin pump unit and adapted the pipework to suit. Electrical supplies and controls were reconnected before we tested for leaks, adjusted pressure settings and commissioned both pumps, checking duty/standby operation and automatic changeover before returning the system to service.
The outcome
The replacement booster set restored consistent water pressure and reliable cold water delivery throughout the building. Successful testing of both pumps and automatic changeover confirmed the system could maintain supply if one pump became unavailable, providing greater resilience and easier future maintenance.
